86 softail engine replacement fit??

Hello all
My trusty stead is slowly dying.
its an 86 softail that has done a lot miles
i want to replace the engine so i can rebuild the old one in my own time.
so my question is will a S&S 110 fit in my frame?
Is this a good choice?

Go stock young man

Find a good late model evo engine slight mods i.e. cam, intake etc..less money, less headache, more dependable, service and parts anywhere. You can buy a complete evo bike with what it cost for a new aftermarket engine.

They are good engines, as all S&S powerplants are.
