Primary drain plug leaking

I have a 97 Dyna Wide Glide. The drain plug on the primary is leaking. I have replaced the plug and the o ring and also put pipe tape on it in an attempt to stop the leak. Is there any other way to stop this leak? Does anybody make a bigger drain plug? The one in it is the tapered type plug.

I have a 1992 EVO. I use white 'thread sealant' that comes in a small tube and apply a small amount around the threads. I have never had a leak or any other issues with the primary case whenever I do a fluid change.

Use "thread sealant with Teflon" as another poster stated. Not sure what you mean by O-ring. It's a pipe threaded plug, didn't come with an O-ring and shouldn't have an O-ring on it.

They are cheap. I always replace the plug after approx 3-4 times in and out.

And don't tighten them too much. Being pipe plugs, you will eventually ruin the fit by screwing them in to far. There should be about 1/16 to 1/8" protruding.
