Cylinder cuts out

I have a RevTech 110 Evo style engine. It is in the break in period and has run fine for about 300 miles. The last 2 times I've used it, after about a half hour one cylinder cuts out. On my last ride I had to limp home about 5 miles on 1 cylinder. After the bike sets for about twenty minutes, both cylinders run fine. I changed the plugs, and wires, and it still happens. If anybody has any insight into what to look for, it is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for any help.

Check the wire connections and connectors at the coil. Which ignition module are your running? Is it mounted in the cam cover? If so, maybe it is getting too hot from engine heat. Do you have a different ignition to try? Have you checked your coil with an ohm meter?

Sounds like a sensor in the nose cone. if you spray cold compressed air on it and it works or a hairdryer makes it stop it is a sensor in the nose cone ( i believe) I read something on here about that. Check the archives of nose cone sensors.....
Someone here knows what I am mentioning... Coils work or they don't. BTW.

R/T quality control sucks
so first off check ign module to see if the screws are tight then look at pick up sensors to see if one is broken or both if running dual fire.
since you swapped motors you probably had to do some splicing of ign wires (i did on mine) check the wires for bad connection.
is the ign grounded good? could be coil as already mentioned.
If all looks good then try using a can of inherit gas turn it upside down and spray the ign module when it starts cutting out. or try running with the cover off.
good luck.....hope your experience with R/T is better than mine was

Don`t assume that...

I had an ignition coil that would stop working when it got hot, but not all the time. It drove me nuts.

Tell us how you really feel about CCI (corporation china importer). Just having a little fun. I am sure they must have some stuff that's decent...

Thanks for the various input of information. This gives me some things to look at. It is getting cold here in MA and as I've aged I've become a whimpy fair weather rider, so I can let it sit inside and ride my Softail until I can give her the attention she needs.
I really appreciate all of the ideas!
