Had this happen twice to a bike oil filter came off after riding , caught it in time , no damage to the engine, and top outer primary bolts came loose after being torqued to spec twice. Has anyone ever heard of this?
You must have a lot of vibration in that engine... I use blue locktite on the outer primary bolts and torque them to about 10-11 ft pounds.
Did you reuse your old primary gasket? If so, it may have swollen if contaminated with oil and left to sit on the bench. It may have then slowly compressed back down after being torqued back down, resulting in loose bolts. Just a thought.
