No oil pressure

I have a 1991 Electra Glide Classic with an S&S oil pump. I've only had the bike for a couple months, and it's history is fairly vague (no service records) but it has run fine and given me no trouble. I rode it last night, and it seemed fine. So, today I start it from cold and there is no oil pressure. Zero. Nada. Gauge comes up slightly (apr. 2 psi) then goes down on start up. Light stays on. I never heard any noises, or anything unusual prior to the problem. . I checked for oil return to the tank. None. Oil level full. Pulled outlet hose on pump. Nothing. So, before I pull the pump off tomorrow, is there anything you guys could suggest I look for specifically? Like, can I tell if the shaft going into the cam chest is ok without pulling the nose cone? I'm familiar with twinkies, but this is the first Evo I've had, and obviously the oil pump is quite different. I have the FSM, but it's kinda vague concerning the pump. The oil pressure had been ok ( 10 psi at idle. 25 at 3000 rpm). I might just open up the cam chest anyway, so I can see what shape the cam bearing is in. It's just wierd, 'cuz there was no noise or wierdness prior to it going to carp. Anyhow, sorry for the long post. It's late, and I'm frustrated. Thanks
JD

It sounds like you are on the right track troubleshooting the problem.
I`m guessing you will find that a key is sheared on one of the pump gears.

However, before you pull the pump apart I suggest you check the oil supply hose that goes from the tank to the pump. Make sure it is not collapsed, kinked or obstructed.

Thanks Dan. I pulled the pump apart and it was ok, but the snap ring on the drive shaft at the pinion end was loose, and the opening was big enough for the key to drop out. It was sitting in the bottom of the cam chest. So, a 85 cent snap ring and some gaskets is all I need, although I'm gonna replace the cam bearing while I'm in there. Thanks again.
