noise @ 1st gear from a dead stop HELP

Today when leaving work i kind of let out the clutch a little to fast.
The results were a loud noise of something slipping and me not going forward. At least momentarily. I tried to repeat this in the rest of the gears and it only does it in first from a dead stop. Would this be a clutch adj.?

check clutch adj. but it sounds like your shifter forks and or drum may have too much wear. FYI a poor adj. clutch, your bike would want to move forward even when you pull in the clutch

From your description it sounds like the clutch was slipping, it may need to be adjusted, but it also could be worn clutch plates if it is the original clutch.

Has the front belt pulley/nut/spacer/lock been upgraded on your bike to the more modern unit? The original pulley and nut design that came on your bike was known for coming loose, which could cause serious damage.

It sounds nothing like the shifter forks or drum have too much wear...

FYI, a misadjusted clutch could creep when the lever is pulled in, or it could slip when the lever is released...
