Pretty much all the evos and carbed twin cams used the same carb. look for a keihin CV carb. Check ebay for "harley cv carb", it's usually pretty easy to find a take off in good shape.

Just be aware that the Keihn CV carb was NOT used on Evo big twins until 1990. Early ones had a Keihn butterfly carb with a crummy manifold setup that used what was called "compliance fittings" rubber boot type stuff that slipped over a shortened manifold. The throttle/idle cables weren't the same either.

The CV carb is great but you'll need a manifold (all metal) and the right cables for it.

Yep, you should be able to find the CV carb and manifold at most larger swap meets. Cables, I'd buy new ones. Just be sure, if you buy a swap meet carb, that's it's still in basically stock mode, that is, the slide hasn't been drilled and/or messed with. You could also ask on here. A TC CV carb will also work fine if the jets/needle are changed.

personally i would go with an aftermarket intake and a 90's style CV carb or even an S&S or Mikuni, especially if yoru pklanning on upgrading the power later on

Dumping the compliance fittings is the best thing you can do. Those things go bad every year and are expensive to replace. I have an S&S Super on my bike, with the S&S manifold that replaced the compliance junk thing. Keep in mind that you'll have to tune a S&S or any other carb that you buy. The S&S' come pig rich out of the box, in my experience.
