Did one of those kits on my buddies FXR. Be sure the oil drain back hole lines up, his didn't! Turn the cyl. upside down & put the base gskt. on & look for any thing blocked.

gsxrboy96 is an unknown quantity at this point
With 10.1 compression, your gonna wanna run a little bigger camshaft to keep the cylinder psi down or it will beat itself up on pump gas, id run something in the neighborhood of a evl3020 or a ev46.

Diddo. You will need to decide what rpm you want the power to be in and what type of riding you plan to do so that you can pick a cam to meet those needs. You can get by with the exising cv carb, but would see an improvement going with a different one. The mikuni hsr 42 would be an easy one to put on and will perform well. Many have had good experiences with others such as s&s. I would switch to a different ignition such as a dayton twin tech so that you can tweak the timing curve to match the higher compression. There are other good ignitions out there as well.

Here's a link to the daytona twin tec module. http://www.daytona-twintec.com/model_1006.html
You can use your existing coil if you leave it as dual fire. You are probably also do for some new plug wires.

Tiawan Tedd's in Newburgh, N.Y???????? OUCH!!!!!!!!!!
RUN, don't walk from their stuff!!!!!!!!!!!
You be MUCH better off boring your OE cylinders, and touching up the heads at the same time.
