Starter clutch

I need to replace the starter clutch on a 98 wideglide. Can I get to it by removing the outer primary and the starter? Thanks

Starter clutch is inside the starter, will need to remove the outer primary to get the jackshaft bolt out to remove the starter.

If you are going to wrench on your bike buy the sevice manual, parts manual comes in handy also.
I will write up any of my techs who do not have the service manual for the bike they are working on out open and on their lift

This seems a little chicken **** to me. I bet 'your' techs think very highly of you.

Back on subject. The starter clutch is easy to replace. Remove the starter, then there are only a couple of bolts on the starter to remove to open it up. Not hard. Just be sure to disconnect the battery first.
