Shine, unplug the regulator from the stator. With the engine running at a very high idle, you should have around 100 plus VAC coming out of the stator. If not, then the stator is bad. If voltage at the stator is good, the next check is at the battery. With the engine at a high idle, there should be around 14.4 VDC at the battery. If not then thevoltage regulator is bad. Before doing these checks, check every connection for tightness and loose cable ends. Make sure the battery is fully charged also. Once you have 14.4 VDC at the battery your next check should be for current draw. With the ignition key turn completely off, remove one of the battery cables and measure current draw. There should not be any current being drawn, if there is current draw, then something is shorted in the electrical system. To isolate the draw, start by unhooking electrical connections until the current draw stops.
