TP or S&S

Ok I have made up my mind I am going to buy one of the two but just want some thoughts on which one. I am going to go with either the TP 114 or the S&S 113. Any thoughts on one over the other??

What is Tp?? Why not a personal build with a site vendor??? Using your existing cases and heads??????

What type of finish? The TP full Polish is nice. My problem with TP is their emblem is too big on the rocker boxes. They do make them without the emblem, but I dont know if you can order a crate that way. Either choice, you cant go wrong for a crate motor.
Why not go with thier biggest motor?

Have you checked Patrick Racing? I've been buying from them for awhile with great success. The last one I bought was a 113" for a TC putting out 135hp, nice motor.

If only those 2 choice are on the line it would be S&S. They will be around . Some others might not. ME ,,i would buy a ultima for 4500+ less. If you get the S&S buy the IST ignition system with it..

I guess I'm in the minority here. I like both motors and have friends that run both. The problem with the S&S that bothers me, and this is inherent in every single one of them I ride with is weeping motor joints and leaking oil dripping from the air cleaners and cam covers. This is real noticiable after a long highway run. The TP's don't seem to do that. They are also quieter engine noise wise, no excessive tapping from the rocker boxes etc. TP makes a real nice motor and has addressed many of the problems associated with v-twins. They also make replacement parts that help to address the earlier evo issues. TP motors are real real purdy to. Well machined looking units. No I'm not on the payroll, I just have witnessed both and after years of old shovel leaks, I'm not into my motors leaking anymore. I also don't buy the big inch it's a way of life leaks either. If it's machined and built well, it shouldn't leak. TP's don't from what I witness. They have been around awhile also!
