Any Ideas?

My 99 Evo has got a nasty miss in the back jug - new plugs put in, didn't help. It's gotta be electrical. I'm thinking I should start with a new coil and plug wires. Anyone else got any ideas?

If those parts have some age on them thats the cheapest place to start. Do a comp test next. Is how front to back compair. anything over 10or 12lbs differt? Lots of miles or road hard ? valve spring or lifter next. Are you still runn'n a dual fire ignition.

Simple plugwire test, swap the front and rear wires to see if the miss moves with the wire.

That's the ticket, start with the basics, your plug wires will be different lengths, so swap them at the coil & see if the miss moves (as mentioned)..
Same test..

If it's your coil & you need one, I have a lo-mile evo softail take off in primo shape....

Have you fix it yet? If your running single fire, ensure that the wire from the pick up is not broken at the coil or barely holding on. That is an easy fix. But need to know what style ignition your running.

Sorry Bro's - had a bad computer for a while...... It was the coil - old parts, they'll get you every time. To answer a few of you - she's been baby'd - just turned 17K miles, and she was BONE STOCK until I put some pipes and air cleaner on last month.

Thanks for the help.
