No Spark fo Sparky
Problem
I have a 1998 FLHRCI Road King Classic the bike turns over strong but will not fire up. It is EFI I have never had a problem with it and it always started right up in 2seconds. The last couple of rides it started hard but after it was warmed up it started again right away. I have gas in the tank, fuel pump makes the usual noise, engine light turns on then off., and it just turns over. It sits sometime for a week or two it’s been about two weeks since I last had it running and it ran fine. I have 32,500 miles EVO motor. I think I need to have the engine on the Scanalyzer for diagnostics. And I have a Service Manual. Any help would be appreciated. No errors on engine light. And I am not getting any spark?
Thanks

Check your plugs, plug wires, and coil.

Put it on the trailer took it to the dealer took it off the trailer and she started right up?????? They ran the Scanalyzer on it and nothing, no code errors.
I left it there a couple of days and it started everytime. Brought it home today. And I did not give the dealer my key.........ignition switch????

One of the wires to my coil went bad at the 90* elbow connection.
It would die unexpectedly after riding for a couple of hours.
I found out the problem when taking off the coil to replace it.
electrical problems suck.

Well the bikes been running great. Went for a ride stopped at a rest area to smoke one, went to leave and won't start, I jiggled the igintion, still no start.
Then I rocked the bike from side to side and she fired right up. I think it might be the fuel filter, or the check valves at the tank fittings?
New winter project.........That the latest........Thanks for your support

Did it again this Spring. It is at the Dealer. Diagnosis Crank Sensor and possibly Cam Attitude Sensor? That parts are on order.

Does this bike have a tip over switch? I'm not sure which ones have it. I had a 2000 springer that had it. If you got the bike tipped too far, as in dropping it, it would not start for a few minutes after getting it set upright. I'm thinking you have one and it's malfunctioning. Check with your manual or dealer, that might tell ytou for sure.

There was a recall on the mounting bracket for the tip switch on the 99 EFI RK models that might relate to yours as well. It’s located under the left side utility cover (just below the seat), brackets were recalled due to breakage.

I have a 99 Road King, had the same problem. No spark, no fuel, the ECM shut the bike down when there is an error, so the bike does not get fuel or spark. I checked the plugs, wires, fuel pump, ecm, coil, replaced the bank angle sensor, on off switch, cleaned the battery terminals, cleaned the ground point, replaced the relays, talked with Harley mechanics and it still wouldn't start. That's when started thinking of checking the wiring harness as the bike started one day and the next morning it just cranked over. I started with crank sensor and the cam sensor, both read good. Went to the wires leading off of them, they read good. Got to the deutch connector, pulled it appart and looked in side, one prong was darker than the other five, looked at the female end, four of six looked darker the other two. Put some good light on them and there was the problem, there was small amounts of corrosion and burn marks, very little but was there. I cut the connector out of the chain and used good quality electrical connectors from an auto store and connected the wires as color coded together. It fired right up and runs well. I'd start checking wires for continuty and power, do not assume they're good, you'll get mislead.
