brittfan wants to know Dino or Syn?
inner primary leak

To make a long story short, I discovered this weekend that what I thought was an outer primary leak is really an inner primary leak.
I'll be pulling the inner this weekend to take a look, but it is unknown terrirtory for me. I looked at "the book" and it seems pretty staight forward. Any tips from any body???
Wish me luck.
Thanks

I had a leak on my 03 SERK. I also put in a Baker 6 speed and found something that I would highly recommend. The inner primary bearing rides on a race that is on the tranny shaft. This can work its way in on the shaft and cause problems. High torque motors and or too tight of a drive belt will cause this. Flexes the shaft. While you have the inner primary off, look at the heavy duty bearing that Baker sells for this application. The race is contained in the inner primary bearing it self, all one piece. Since it is all one piece, it can't work its way in on the tranny shaft. A much better setup. The bearing comes with the inner seal too. It's about 40.00 total. I got the race off the shaft by grinding a groove in it with a dremial tool (sp?) and tap with a punch. My race had walked in so the normal tool wouldn't grab it. Drag Spec. sells the Baker bearing too. Jenni sells it for 20% off.

S&S makes a good set-up too.
