>>> AS LONG AS YOU KNOW THAT THE PRESENT SITUATION IS NOT OPTIMIMUM, THAT MAKE LOT'S OF $EN$E.

Where in TN are you? I am in Candler, NC (about 13 miles west of Asheville) and my mom lives in Sevierville, TN. My wife and I make several trips a year over there and the Gatlinburg area.

>>> MIDDLE TN, NEAR THE AL BORDER.

Just a curious question: with a stock ECM, the revs are limited to about 5200 anyway so who cares if you "run out of breath at 5000" unless you are flashing or replacing ECM? Is this a valid question?

>>> NOT ONLY IS IT VALID, IT INDICATES GOOD THINKING. INI TURN, THAT LEADS US BACK TO CAMS: IF YOUR COMBINATION PRODUCES TQ DOWN LOW, AND MOST ALL OF IT'S POWER BEFORE 5200 RPM, WHY REFLASH?

BTW, IF YOU NEED MORE RPM, IF YOU USE THE PCIII-USB YOU CAN RAISE THE REV-LIMIT WITHOUT A RE-FLASH.

...
I have a PC3 USB installed. Should I hit the dyno for a tune after I get the cam in or just find a good map from the dynojet web site? ... What about these guys that do tuning in their trailers at rallies? ...:

>>> IF YOU FIND A MAP THAT LISTS MODS SIMILAR TO YOURS, YOU'LL PROBABLY NOT BE ABLE TO TELL ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IT AND A CUSTOM MAP IN REAL LIFE. AS TO THE GUYS IN TRAILERS: A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE RAN ONE FOR YEARS. HERES'S WHAT I'D SAY ABOUT THEM. THEY ARE A BUSINESS, AND THEY DO NOT HAVE TIME TO FART AROUND WITH EVERY LITTLE DETAIL DURING A TUNING SESSION. MY FRIEND HAD DONE SO MAY BIKES OVER THE YEARS THAT HE PRETTY MUCH KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO WORK 99% OF THE TIME. HE DID THAT, MADE THE RUN TO CONFIRM THE RESULTS WERE IN THE RANGE EXPECTED, AND YOU WERE DONE. IF HE'D MADE DOZENS OF RUNS FOR YOU, ODDS ARE THAT HE'D FIND A COUPLE MORE HORSES IN THERE SOMEWHERE, BUT IT WOULD COST YOU--AND HIM--WAY MORE THAN IT WAS WORTH. THERE WILL CERTAINLY BE EXCEPTIONS, BUT I THINK IN GENERAL THE "TRAILER GUYS" GIVE ENOUGH VALUE FOR MONEY TO MAKE THE A VALID CHOICE.

The 23 is a very mild cam that will probably net you a little more TQ and power than stock, but it's for dressers that are ridden like dressers.
Thank you sir.

Since you listed the PCIII you must have the old MM EFI. Look at your injectors and see if they have red tops or black ones. The black top injectors will not flow enough fuel to feed wither the EV-27 or EV-13. Red top injectors flow 46% more fuel. If you install the red tops the bike will barely even run until the new fuel MAP is put in. (From running too rich) The HD Stage II kit included a new flash cartridge that had to be programmed into the ECM when the red tops were installed. The PCIII if I recall can not subtract enough fuel to make it run correctly with the base fuel MAP. You will also need to adjust the spark advance and total timing.

If you need them I have a whole good induction unit as a spare, plus I have the entire induction unit just removed from my FLH with the TPS and air bleeds dialed in, both with red top injectors. I also have the entire factory ecu with the Stage II program installed.

I can also answer some of the questions that may pop up since I did several real similar engine combos.
What kind of deal would you offer me on the Stage 2 flashed ECM?

i've got a 91 evo with heads by Don Dorfman at Deweys, SE pistons at 10:1, an EV27, and a Baker compensator... and this thing moves very nicely

no complaints

Have you looked at the Andrews EV3? It's a nice all round cam.
