cam install wood w-8 evo

I have se heads , .030 head gaskets, se 10.5 to 1 pistons, v-thunder 3030 cam, single fire ing., vance and hines pro pipe HP, mikuni 45... on a 98 road king. Yea the bike is fast, for such a big boy. and she sounds amazing. The heads and pistons came after, I got the cam. I was going to replace it with an se-57 (575 lift) but I was talked into a wood W-8, with 590. I think its going to be a great improvement to an already great running motor.
MY QUESTION... how risky would it be just to drop in this cam?

Anything I should consider?

new lifters? valve clearence? valve seals? cam bearing boss?

What's your thoughts?

I love this bike and I ride it year round...rain, snow, heat of summer and I keep it clean (almost always) just like Dad always tought me.... point is I love it!!!!

but I dont have the funds to just pay someone to do it for me.. I have done almost all the mods on her.
I need some advice... any ideas

the v3030 I have in it has too much static compresion. (wrong duration for my compresion) I had to retard the timing too much to make it not spark knock. Aviation gas was great! she was strong, but on pump gas (having to retard the timing leaves her a little flat)

You will have to clearance your cam chest around the cam bearing as Conner mentioned. Most SE heads are limited to 575 lift so a head part number search is needed to see which valve springs you have.
With that compression and a big bike, you don't have much of a choice but to let some air out of it with a camshaft to control detonation. In cam theory, the W8 is for a lighter bike but it could work and pull hard earlier with your compression. Your ignition needs to have different timing curves also to help out with tuning out detonation, I traveled the same road you are and ended up removing some compression but never tried the late intake closing and higher duration, it might work.

I have a 99 softail with similar. Running about 10.6. Put a quality set of roller rockers in there... if you don't you'll regret it. Cam clearance is an issue you'll need to address and the springs will need to be changed. Bike will leave a worked CVO in the dust. Pulls very strong from 2500 up.
