EVL 3010 VS. Woods 6-H
I recently just pulled this EVL 3010 out of my fatboy which turned out too be a V thunder cam @.500" Lift and .234 duration. Im putting in a woods 6-H @.590" Lift and 240 duration. Just kinda looking for a comparison of the two? The EVL 3010 felt like more top end to me but looks more like a low too mid......thanks

How would the Wood cam compare to the EVL3030 I have in my 95 Fatboy, 530 lift 240/240 ? It has Mackie heads, 2-1 Supertrapp, stock carb

no comparison IMO, a .590 lift and .240 duration is a night and day difference from a .500 lift cam, you will noticed a ton of power everywhere over that cam... and even the .530..
remember when going with the 6H to get heavier springs, and i think Hillside has my heads set at 10.5:1 compression.. i think 10:1 might work ok but i would talk to Scott at Hillside or Bob Wood himself before choosing.. Bob is always willing to talk to customers and he will ask you bike, riding style and so on to make his recommendation .

that 3030 cam will destroy the woods6 all day long, i had a vthunder 3020 that made the woods look bad down low, nearly identical peak numbers, but the feel of the bike was night and day, also the vthunder is quiet, and for all the non believers, paul 93fxr, will be dynoing his bike soon, and its gonna shock people. mark my words.

The 3030 really surprised me....whisper quiet, and pulls very hard.
About a hunderd miles to go, change out the oil, get the jetting dialed in, and we're ready for Dyno day.....
Needless to say, I'm looking forward to it....

I have stock pistons at .040 deck and the Mackie heads cut .050. I run the Trapp stainless 2-1 with 24 discs, closed end cap and the internal baffle cutout. Also a Sportster module running on the low curve only. The bike runs real good. You do have to make sure the heads are set up fo rthe extra lift. Mine are set up for 550 lift. The bike is as peaceful as a stocker to ride

i love my woods 6h in my 87 flh . its nice and thick for touring and pulls nice up top.
my thunderheader exhaust complemented the cam very well... maby a little more valvetrain niose than a smaller cam...

On paper with .060 more lift at the same duration Id think the 6H would win out. Im not changing mine to find out though. Dont matter what cam is in your 80 when the big dogs show up anyway

lift is the smallest variable of a camshaft, Even tho this is a incredibly unfair comparison, it does get my point across, take a look at stock elimintor drag classes, you can change everything in the camshaft, but, the lift, and guess what, you get this.
