oil pressure ?

i just did a top end job about 500 miles ago..i went from 80" to 83"..and bumped the compression from 8to 1 to 10 to1...i noticed the engine runs hotter..but i know that's from the increase in comp....my thing is if i'm runnin local backroads little 15 mile hops from town to town etc..the oil pressure is good when i come to a stop and at idle...just around 6 to 10 lbs when hot..but if i run the highway for let's say 20 miles or a back roads for a good stretch..when i come to a stop my pressure is in the toilet..but not all the time..it's wierd..could a tc filter be the problem holdin oil back..should i run with a larger micron filter bein evo's filter on the return line..also there is no oil cooler..and i have a long filter in place..i'm thinkin maybe a pump job or wrong filter for app...the only time i had no pressure when it was 80"was in heavy traffic when it was like 85 to 90 or so degrees..but now the outside temp is in the 60's..and i didn't play with the stock carb..didn't have to she runs real strong even with 2 up..no problems everything is smooth on take off..but it does run hot..all i did was pitons and jugs..and fresh heads from a 99 evo with 8000 on them..my bike has 50 plus..what do ya think..thanks in advance

If you are running a Twin Cam oil filter and it holds the oil back, you will know it because oil will not scavenge from the crankcase properly and will be blown out the breather.

I don`t think the TC oil filter can cause low oil pressure (until all the oil goes out the breather and there is none left in the tank)...

But I suggest you use an oil filter for an Evo.

10 micron filters are bad news on evos. Your light is set to go on at as low as 5 psi. It may flicker when fully warm on a hot day with nothing being wrong. You must rejet for your new compression, or you will end up damaging a piston. The main jet only affects the upper range of throttle settings, the needle and slow jet are likely what you need to address.

You may not get a tan color range with today's fuel. Hopefully you can get a gray or tan ring (halo) on the porcelin just below the tip. You should also have a color change on the side strap about half way up to indicate proper timing.

Tan or brown colored spark plugs are what you want on an older motor with a less efficient chamber. Evos have nice efficient chambers, and therefore burn most of the fuel/air mixture, resulting in a well tuned motor having white plugs. If you have tan plugs you are probably running too rich.
