Carb, Setup and tuning for this build

It seems I just can't stop working (playing) with my bike. I have made the modifications listed below and would now like to upgrade the carb. I am leaning toward a Mikuni HSR 42. (the added rattle will go well with the dry clutch plate ringing) I think I would like the feel of the snappy throttle response. Also, the bike seems to run a lot hotter than the stock version and I do get pinging when fully hot and lower RPM starts. I have backed some timing out and it does not seem to make a difference. Could anyone offer some advice on the Mik 42? What would be a good baseline to start with (jets, pump, etc)? And some final carb/motor/tuning advice would help too. Most of my riding is short trips around town, 15 miles of freeway to work, and the occational trip to the beach (~100 miles). I am at close to sea level.

Force Winder XR2

Cam: Woods 6H (no noise on this one)
New lifters
Adjustable push rods
Pistons: JE 10.5:1 domed +.005
Stock Stroke
Crane Hi-4 ignition
Single fire coil

Out of the box they are close for your set-up.

I forgot to mention that I have used Cometic .030 gaskets in this build. That may effect the ping issue.

my bike made 3 more horsepower across the entire rpm range with the stock keihin with a thunderslide than the mik 42, and was snappier..just sayin.
