Evo tuning- What to do next?

Hi,

I bought this bike last year and want to tune the engine a bit. Before I start I might need to know what I got already.

The evo motor has Screamin Eagle heads. Does any one know what sreamin eagle put inside? Is this likely to be a standard cam, pistons, compression or combustion chamber? Please can anyone take a guess at this.

The carb says Harley Davidson part #27932-99. Someone on here was trying to find some info on this carb a couple of years back.

I read the carb may be an older type of stage tune but does any one know or can anyone have a guess at what it actually might be? It also came fitted with a big sucker air cleaner.

Is it better to change this carb for something else like a Super E, a Mikuni 42 or Scremin Eagle 44?

There is also a S&S high volume oil pump.

Please can someone help or offer a constructive opinion as to what stage tune I might have, if any, and what to do next.

Thanks in advance.

Screaming Eagle didn't put anything inside. Those heads and whatever else was done happened after the bike left the factory. The EVO SE heads could be run with the stock flat top pistons, but they could also have SE or aftermarket pistons for higher compression.

To identify the carb you could put a picture up, would make it allot easier.

Sounds like you have a good set of parts. What are the leakdown and compression numbers?

gsxrboy96 is an unknown quantity at this point
Exactly what econnor said, the s/e heads were a bolt on, they never came from the factory like that....that i know of anyway, not evolution. Im also curious as too what the cylinder psi is too, that will tell you a lil bit about what your dealing with...without opening up the motor, Secondly, I believe you have a cv44 carb, but a pic would help,

I measured across the throat of the carb - It is a CV44. My guess could be Screamin Eagle.

Would it also be fair to assume the previous owner also dropped in a different cam? That would be a quick fix performance upgrade compared to upgrading to SE heads.

I mean you wouldn't change the heads unless you were doing somethng more to the internals right???

Checked the jets too. Main jet is 220 and pilot jet is 50. Would this give any indication as to what the engine might be? Would a standard engine run on these jets?

That 44 cv is a great carb.
The 220 main is real big, but if it wants it..............
