Exhaust advice...

Hello...I'll start by saying that I've taken alot of advise from this forum and I'm really glad to know there is this much knowlege out there so thank you all! My question is... I've got an 85 FXR with a mild 80 ci evo...EV27, S&S super E, adjustable push rods, slight head work, and some aftermarket straigt pipes...bought it this way.. It ran fabulous..tons of power, however I like the sound, look and idea of a two in one pipe,so I bought a used V & H pro pipe..(nearly brand new) I put it on..expecting to have to make some changes..I ran it for a short trip and it sounded great but it didn't seem to have the tourque it did before...any suggestions on what I should do with jetting the super E would be helpfull. As I said this whas a used exhaust and had no dial in instructions. Thanks in advance. Eddie.

If looking for more torque with that pipe, you can remove the baffle, and using 2 radiator hose band clamps, block off the first 2 rows of holes.
If you like that, then start with the carb.
.028 pilot, .068 main, air/idle 1 1/2 turns out, accelerator pump 3 turns out, is a strong baseline. Adjust from there.

Thank you. I will give that a try... is this a good choice for an exhaust or should I look for a better two into one system? Hard to find anything for an 85 the way it is.

The V&H Pro pipe is an excellent pipe for your FXR. A little tuning work like Hillside gave and you'll have a nice setup. Drag pipes can give the illusion of more power because they are so loud and they do give good power on the top end of the rpm range but for all around good running your Pro Pipe should be a sweetie. They are very well made too.
