Clutch ideas

ok now that i am pushing 105+ lbs of tq, i know not allot compared to most of the builds going on now, but for a stock clutch with over75K on it i have noticed under full power going threough the gears...

i am going to try and adjust it ( doesnt look too difficult in the manual)

but over the winter i'd like to replace with a good clutch i knwo nothing about them, are the lock up kinds ?

i seen in the twinkie section a VPP ? or a Scorpion ?
need some recomendations. any help would be great...

onsn, stock belt will also be changed out this winter

Mike,
A Rivera Pro-Clutch would be a viable option to consider.

105 ft lbs is enough to start breaking things. not too shabby.

I ran a stock clutch + SE spring and VPC and it hed real well. Recetly changed out to Energy One Extra plate clutch + SE spring + VPC and it's strong.

Rivera is set up is even better.

i had a SE spring put in when i did the build...

ya 105 lbs and that was on a bad air day on the dyno, so i figure on good days itrs a bit more,,,
the thing thats so hard on everythign thos is its a 750lb bike adn i'm pushing the 400lb mark so i know things are going to break if i dotn keep up with them lol

was hopping the clutch will last til winter is all. as i am not working presently.

i looked at a few options yesterday and i will probably go pro clutch when the time comes..

I think I would try the spring update first.Personally have the Scorpion in both my bikes, the reason, because Barnett has been around for a long time.Good Luck

clutch

take a look at the barnett extra plate clutch kit and a stronger spring, they work great hold alot of power and are "relatively" inexpensive. thats what i am running and so far so good.

Barnett, Bandit, and Rivera will all take care of your clutch issues.
You arent making enough HP to need a lock up type hat so don't spend the extra money on it.

thanks folks.. i was thinking about adding a plate and stuff but figured with the miles on might as well go new and better.. thanks PW i hadnt heard allot about the lockup types, i didnt think i would need it, not 150 hp or drag racing every weekend ... mostly just cruising and some street racing here and there..
