oil leaking from front head on evo

then compression leakage........warped head ya think.What can I do

you have to pull the heads. they will probably need to be decked to get them flat. You should also look for what caused this to happen.

I just put the heads back on with teflon head gaskets.I had bad rocker boxes leaking profusely and I installed new oversize rings. Before that I had cometic head gaskets,never had a problem with them...was wondering if the head might be warped. I torqued them 7 lbs then 14lbs plus a quarter turn. The back cylinder is just fine.

Did you really stop at 14lbs then a quarter? If you did, it will pop a gasket again. I think the factory torque stops at 30 something then a quarter turn. There are many different tq seq, but a quarter after 14 is only going to be 17-20 lbs.... not enough. If you have a bump in compression, put in SE cylinder studs and use your stock caps. They make a huge difference...

Ive got the factory book and it says 7 to start then to 14 and a quarter turn. If it should be more PLEASE LET ME KNOW.........I just wanna ride...........this is my first evo..Ive always had ironheads and shovelheads since 1977.
