Oil leak by stator plug

Got a small leak on my 113SS at the stator plug. Anyone know of an easy way (not pulling the primary and chain) to seal this puppy up? I was thinking of some sort of a silicon, but didnt know how to get it in the opening with the plug still in. Thanks.

I used some hi-temp black silicon on mine. Just run a bead around the outside of it and then run your finger around it to smooth it out.

What do you meen by seated? The plug gets tigher if I pull it out until there is no slack left in the wires in the primary. Sticks out about 1.5 inches. If I push it in until the Male part of the plug(part from regulator) touches the cases, then its a little loose.

Thats how we do it when we build motors.
Specially large pumps over 100 inches,
You know, the ones that make your face smile while shaking things loose on your bike.

Looking at the plug there is a lip all the way around,it should be inside the case when the plug is seated into the stator connector. If it is sounds to me like you may have to resort to silicone. My S&S 124",and R&R 155" were both very tight when plugged in and neither of them leak, not using silicone.Good Luck

I think the fit depends on the cases. My factory 1995 case had a tight fit and no silicon was needed. However, when I switched to a STD case, the same plug had a sloppy fit and I did use silicon. No leaking with the silicon.
