Engine Oil Differences?

Whats the difference between motor oils, ie. Mobil 1 for Motorcycles and regular Mobil 1, both are synthetic, are they interchangeable?

Thanks in advance

There is a difference, probably something with the detergents. Hopefully, one of the oil guru's like George will log in and give you the real facts.

Some guy did a study and called it Oil and the Modern Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. It's a 32-page Acrobat document. Should give you some good, oily reading.

Yes, the oil question has been discussed alot but this is the first I've seen of the article referenced by MadCity. Excellent reading, indeed, and it was worth another oil thread this time.

Search again! Many references! Mad City has a good reference listed for generalization.

Everyone can save themselves some grief if they use WD-40.

Sure it will take a few cans to fill-up all three holes, but hey this stuff is good for everything.

Your motor will never seize up & it will repel any water that gets inside the motor.

Thumbs up All Natural no sythetics...

I use all natural Tree Rat Tail Oil in all three holes . Sure, it's a little labor intensive catchin' the little critters and "processing" () them..but my mileage has gone up and the gear noise has gone down...
