Actually the clunk has to do with your primary chain adjustment and oil. I was being sarcastic because of all the supposed claims people make when they switch to xyz brand oil. In my case I tried Redline Shockproof and I couldn't tell any difference between it and the H-D branded oil that was in there.

I agree with the clack going into first being mostly related to primary adjustment, but there is a huge diff when changing to a top lubricant in your tranny VS the HD crap, It was a nightmare to find neutral on my 2012, shifting was not harsh but not smooth either, and it always made a clang during shifts, and I had the famous neutral rattle when engine running and trany hot, all gone when I switched to Severe Gear, there is a difference. JMO

if you want to get rid of that clunk,try holding your clutch in and blip your throttle 1 or 2 times very easy for about 10 or 15 seconds.mine goes in very quitely almost every time,not all the time but most of the time.

the clunk is caused by the gear set spinning in the transmission when clutch is engaged that's why when you pull your clutch in and wait 10 or 15 seconds that gives the gear set time to stop,by the way i use redline butt there are many good oils out there
