red line oil

I just got two redline v-twin power packs from a buddy that wrecked his bike. I always used amsoil in my shovel's and evo but when I got my first twin cam amsoil made the top end tick to much and I switched to mobil-1 v-twin. I just got the 1000 mile service done on my 09 fatboy and was going to switch to mobil at 1500 but I am going to go with redline because of the price (free). Does anyone use this oil, primary and tranny fluid and how does it compair to mobil. If I like it I might switch my 06 roadking over to it also. I never have had a oil related problem with either amsoil or mobil but my friend says it made his bike quieter than with mobil?

I've used it in the past with no problems. It's as good as the other 2 oils you mentioned,
so it just comes down to personal preference.

Thanks I assumed that red line had a good product, so I will use the power pak and save some money on this oil change.

Yes I thought it was strange also but with amsoil my rockers or lifters did tick more. I have used amsoil for years and still use it in my wifes suzuki and it runs quiet and smooth as silk. I also used it in my v-rod up till I traded it in on my 09 fatboy but in my two twin cams it made them tick louder. I used it in my evo up till I sold it with 94k and never had a problem. I switched to mobil-1 v-twin and it was quieter, so I have used it in my twin cams since.

Redline is my favorite oil. I just can't find it around here anymore. I run it when I can find it.

I never see their products around my area. My friend got it on line like I do for amsoil.

I think the last time I ordered some it was from myoilshop.com.

Don't expect any miracles, it's good oil, just like Amsoil and others.

Phat, well said, none of them are miracle oils, if your top end is noisy for whatever reason, none of the oils will cure it, thicker may help, but thats it.

i set my rocker end play to .004 from .018, then 500 miles later changed from redline 50w to redline 20w60. BIG fan of Redline. between the 2 changes it's much quieter. 4K miles on Sturgis trip , no problems. that's my story and i'm stikin to it. if that many people have said " Amsiol makes my top end more noisy, compared to other oils ," i don't know, can they all be wrong, or Amsiol haters. just asking. i am not

I rode about 100 miles on redline oil change yesterday. I did not notice my bike being any quieter with redline over the mobil but it did not get any louder either. The place that bluzmn59 posted is where my friend ordered his (now mine). I use amsoil in other bikes and I like it but it did make both of my twin cams valve trains louder, just a simple fact with mine. I can hear a change in the engine and someone else can not, more power to them. I think most synthetic oils are more than likely great but I am sticking to amsoil, mobil, redline or belray. Thanks for all the input.
