Engine guard as an oil cooler

I am seeking some input on using my engine guard as an oil cooler. Any input and/or experience would be helpful and appreciated.
I am in the process of installing the setup on my 2001 FLSTSI (2006 103 inch SE Twin cam B motor). I already have a Jagg offset filter adapter with thermostat and a Jagg 10-row mounted on my left downtube. I will use a Jagg manual flow control valve to turn the system on/off as needed.

This is an old school setup that works well. On my shovel head, this setup drops the oil temp by 12 degrees and adds a quart of oil capacity. Lots of older bikes have this setup.

Send a PM to Posserider as he has been doing that for years.I know he has that set up on his 03 Ultra.

Riding partner did this mod a few years back and it seems to be working out very well. He's happy and it does add to oil capacity. (Never a bad thing!!)

I'd say go for it!

I will be considering this for the RK.
