Mobil synthetic 10W-40

I normally use Mobil V-twin 20w-50 but am concerned that maybe I should use a 10W-40 as per the owner's manual for when the temperature get consistently colder - we're a few months away yet I know but I'm just thinking ahead. Anyway, I haven't had any problems so far using 20W-50 but I'd like to do the best that I can.

My question has to do with the Mobil synthetic 10W-40: It is made for sport bikes, not specifically for v-twins like the 20w-50 product - do you think the Mobil Syn 10w-40 motorcycle oil is OK to use in an '05 Road King during the cold months (I ride down to about 25 degrees)?

Thanks.

Sure the manual states 10W-40 if lowest ambient temperature is below 40 deg. I would run 20W-50 till that time comes. As far as using M1 10w-40, should not pose any problems because the reason we run "V-Twin" oil is for the heat break down. And the cold riding months in the Dakotas should be a short time, before the bike gets put away for the winter, and you will be putting 20W-50 back in so the oil will last a long time. If I lived where it was cooler most of the time I might run 10w-40 all the time.
