Ok, here's one with a twist. I have run the gamit on oil threads and I picked a brand of synthetic oil several years ago for my Road King and recently sold my Evo bike. The brand of synthetic oil I chose is not an issue and do not want to open that can of worms.I was cleaning the garage today and found 12 quarts of Harley 20w50 oil, not synthetic, I won't run it in the Harley since I am switched to synthetic. Anyone see a problem running it through an older American made pickup?Hate to give it away with the economy and all, and certainly do not want to throw it away.
First off, how old is the truck? Is it FI? I have a little story to tell about this very same thing and the cat converter. But if your truck is carbed then go ahead and use it.
When I had my F150 FI I ran 20w-50 when I moved to Phoenix. No problems ever. Sold that truck with 250k on the dial. I started to run 20w-50 when I had over 140k miles on it. I would use up the oil in the truck.
