Forget extra cost - any reason not to switch to synthetic oil?

I am thinking of switching to synthetic oil. Is there any reason not to? Also, is Amsoil better than HD Syn3?

Any quality Syn is better than HD Syn since HD Syn is only partially Synthetic.

Longer change intervals kill the cost argument, so there is no reason "not to" switch.

Sure I get to go twice as long between changes

Highwayman...do you mean the conventional oil runs 15-20 degrees hotter, or the synthetic oil runs hotter? Everything I've read says that the synthetic oils run cooler.

I've read a lot of dino vs syn threads on several forums and all I've ever seen says syn runs cooler.

I'm not sure which subject has more opinions, what oils to use, to carry/not carry a gun or the Rep./Dem. argument. Here is my take......
Engine....Mobil1 20-50 v-twin
Primary...Shell Rotella 15-40 diesel engine oil
Trans.....Any brand 75-140 syn. GL-5 gear oil

Carry (large cal revolver)

Neither, all politicians are full of sh!t.

Agree with Shockwave, I run Mobil 1 Syn 20w50 in the bag, Valvoline Syn 75-140 in the box and Mobil 1 Syn ATF in the primary. And my bike runs cooler on the Synthetic.

Avoid synthetic in primary...use dino or atf for better clutch engagement. My clutch slipped with synthetic but works great with dino or atf. You will get many different opinions.

Lower heat temps, less friction in the engine, no reason to switch. All kidding aside, I use and recommend Amsoil or Mobil 1.

Been using synthetic exclusively for years and see no reason to go back to dino. But then, that is just my opinion.
