Types of Oil Coolers - Which is Better?

Diggerpine here; I'm planning on istalling an oil cooler on my 07 RG and want to ask a question regarding oil coolers. Which is a better oil cooler, an upright with cooling fins which attaches to the frame or a horizontal radiator type cooler which attaches lower towards the ground? Any feedback appreciated!

Thanks
Steven

Crash bar cooler is most effective and cheap. Just do it right and you will have an extra qt of oil and it will be un noticable.

I would say the one that mounts on the frame down tube. Less of a chance of it getting punctured by a rock or stone.

The Jagg 10 row is the best on the market along with the adapter they sell. It does a great job and flows better than the rest!

i bought a hd for my dyna off e-bay and there wasn't a thermostat. i ended up giving it to friend for his stock low rider and bought the jag 10 row from bob woods for my bike. it was only $25 more for the woods unit with adapter/bypass and the hd is only 6 rows. i did order the chrome unit and they shipped the cheaper priced black cooler by mistake, but quickly realized it and contacted me and offered a return or the price difference between the two, which i took because the black has nice finish and would be hardly noticable on a black bike, instead of highlighting it with the chrome ends. nice people and great customer service.

Jagg

If you look at both the HD, and Jagg adapter you will see HD is crap, and cheep looking piece. very restrictive compared to the very well engineered and built Jagg adapter. i ran both, the Jagg cooled better, and gave me better oil preasure. i'm not saying the HD won't work and cool the oil, just that the Jagg is a MUCH better piece. lets be honest, can we realy trust HD to make a " top notch " superior adapter - cooler, to out do Jagg. JMHO for what it's worth. BUY THE JAGG. down tube mount
