I changed from HD Syn3 to Turco 50W in engine and red line synt in trans and primary.
Engine ran cooler and quited the top end rattle, trans shifts much easier and can find neutral with 1 tap....

You guys hear that supposadly H-D/Amsoil is now recommending 75W110 Synthetic gear oil now?

I've been using Amsoil 75W90 in the tranny and 20W50 in the other 2 spots since my first oil change, no complaints. I guess the gear oil is suppose to NOT thicken (change viscosity) at lower temp cause it's synthetic but maintains a tiny bit thicker coat between the gears at higher temps. I ride an '07 Roak King now, the supposedly noisy 5th gear has been toned down considerable since I switched to 75W90 and placed 15000 mi on it.

Later,

Em ...

I went to mobile vt in the motor, Redline shockproof in the trans, and B&M trick shift in the primary. It's working out great so far.

Mobil 1 15W50 in the engine, Mobil 1 syn ATF in the primary and Castrol Syntec Syn 75W90 in the tranny with some Lucas Syn Stabilizer in the tranny (about 15% Lucas). Supper smooth clutch and gear shifts. Did notice a slight increase in primary chain rotation noise, no doubt because of the thinner viscosity ATF oil. Other than that, great oils.
