Dim turn signals on 1999 electra glide

Both my front and rear left turn signals are very dim on my 99 ultra. the right side is fine. I tightened up the ground wire on under the fairing. the harnesses under the seat look ok. i replaced both bulbs. any other ideas?

Since both left-turn lamps are affected, that could suggest the problem originates at the turn signal control module. The problem may be the turn signal module itself or connector interface to it; loose or corroded wire connection. If you’re up to doing the search yourself, start with examining the connector assembly that plugs into the turn signal module; get a service manual to help trace the flow of left side wiring. Indication of a bad module would be if you can get the left side lamps lit up normally by disconnecting the turn signal module and jumpering the battery directly to the left side ‘hot’ feed.

Problem solved

Thanks for the advice mlewis. I bought the service manual and found the turn signal module. I unscrewed it from the mount and held it in my hand while I activated the right and left turn signals. The right worked fine. The left side, which was dim, made the module heat up. So I kinda figured on getting a new one. I found one on ebay and installed it. Everything works fine now! Thanks again for the help.
