Gps

What would be the easiest and best way to do a detachable instal of a gps. Would only use it when wife was on the back with her holding it.

I suggest you consider a handle bar mount for you gps. Locate where you both can see it.

For some a gps is their "entertainment center" and not just for navigating. It is also possible to find local area of interest, elevation, alternative routes, etc. All this requires a lot of finger pointing, so the passenger might want the gps in her hands. If that is the case, you can do it on batteries for several hours or install a power port somewhere if there is not one already on the bike. Almost all gps's only need is a USB connection. So you can have installed somewhere a cigarette lighter power port and just plug the gps into that, or have a USB port installed and plug it into that.
