Battery?
Sucks, but the Electra Glide I bought new less than three years ago already needs a battery. (Been on a tender its whole life)
Any recommendations for replacement and or internet vendors with good prices?
Many thanks,
CG

I'm sure you'll get plenty of opinions but i'd suggest you go back to Harley for a replacement. It's a crap shoot with any replacement battery but i've had good luck with Harley batteries.

Same here. You probably just got one that left the factory on a Friday or something. I don't think I've ever had a HD battery that died sooner than 5 years.

My original HD battery lasted 7 years. I only replaced for preventative maintenance, it was still working just fine.

I agree with the others, H-D all the way. I have had a several batteries that lasted 5-7 years and a couple that failed much earlier (but I always got warranty on them). I am very happy with them.

battery
i normally replace them with harley brand. for shits and grins i replaced the battery in my streetglide with an Interstate battery (which i think is manufactured by Deka) for about about 70.00 less than the HD brand....2 years on it so far and no issue. I have had HD batteries last me several years 5+ and some 2 or 3. They always let you know when they are crapping out when you start them and they miss the spot....even though the next ten attempts it starts perfectly...there is always that one time it sends the its dying signal

Nothing worse than having a cheap battery fail, thinking "I saved money".
I always buy the Harley battery. They are in stock and close to me.
'02 Sportster and '07 Ultra. One new battery in each since new and only because I thought I should replace for prevention reasons.
They still worked fine.

i had poor luck with Harley batteries on my 02,original lasted a whole year, next one too.
Last time I checked, they came with a 30 day warranty.
Batteries plus sells an agm for around 80 bucks with a 2 year warranty, had one for about 7 years in that same bike,no problems.

I recently purchased two batteries from Battery Mart. http://www.batterymart.com/c-harley-...batteries.html One for my Road King and one for my wife's Street Bob. They have a lot of good reviews on several forums. Free shipping, no tax, good price, made by Deka. From what I understand this is the same company that makes Harley Batteries. We'll see how they last.

I'll second batterymart.com
However, my "new bike" doesn't have a kick start and I wanted to make sure I got one of the best batteries. I opted for an odyssey.

That's what I just replaced. It held up about like the factory battery. It was still starting the bike but it was getting a little weak. If I was at home that wouldn't be a problem, I'd just plug it in if I hadn't ridden in a couple of weeks. But with my wife's traveling job we stay in an apartment. Bikes are stored in a trailer, no convenient way to charge the battery.

Thanks for all of the replies.
I think I might go with the Deca.
Not that it's any better but I'm pissed a battery that came on my NEW bike only lasted 2 1/2 years WITH a tender.
I'm not in the mood to pay extra to HD for more of that.
Thanks again,
CG

I WISH my first one would have lasted that long...it shorted out while I was riding,on top of a mountain pass on a 2 lane road,50 miles from the nearest small town, with a forest fire approaching, and the only motorcycle capable tow truck was already busy with with a guy who'd had deer strike.

Go HERE for all your battery needs. Harley batteries are made by DECA. Harley charges about $80 just for the Harley name on the side of the battery.
Harley battery $172 for my Road King. Bohannan price $109. Shipped to your front door 2-3 days free delivery
