Fuel guage removal

I have a 2006 twin cam 88 and I have removed the fuel guage .Unpluged under tank. What do I have to do to cancel low fuel alarm in speedo.? I have an orange power lead .A yellow signal lead and a black negative lead. Thank you Davy.

By guess would be that the power is just for the lamp and the yellow is a switched connection to ground and the fix would be to ground the yellow wire.

If you have the gauge\float out, ohm it out with a multimeter moving the float up and down and see how the yellow wire interacts with either hot or ground. That or look at the wiring diagram...

I did this. At the sender (float) electrical connection remove the wire and connect a resistor to the wire and ground. I don't remember the value of the resistor but it's in the service manual.

Not too sure!

I have bought a manual! Yah Hoo. I am a bit confused about fitting a resistor (100 ohm is about half tank). The tank sender is still intact , so do I needto fit a resistor if I just want the speedo low fuel warning light to stay out? I have unpluged the fuel guage under the tank. Any help is MUCH needed. Regards Davy.

Find the wire at the sender. Undo the wire from the sender. Insert the resistor between this wire and ground. This way both the guage and the low fuel light think you have a full tank.
