If the ABS is the same as 4 wheelers the brake system is or should be fine. The anti lock brake system isn't working. Ussually when light stays on there's a problem with the ABS. A HD tech checked it out ?? You should be able to find a code which will tell you the problem. I don't know how Harley does this. With their computor,??

If the light is on, the ABS has a problem. Tech does not know what he is doing.. Go to another dealer...

reset your codes with the trip meter. sorry cant expain it.
I just have to do it to know what I am doing.
I have to do every time I dyno a abs bike. if the front tire dosent move and the back does it throws a code.
well it doesnt throw a code every time but it does have to go throught the reset procudure.
do a search for reseting codes on here I have seen it explained in detail.

JUST A GUESS HERE!
I have found on the ABS bikes when I dyno them then the ABS light will have to be reset by going through the routine to reset all codes. 1/2 the time it doesn't throw a code. but when I go through the sequence to reset as if there was a code. it will reset the ABS light. I haven't ran into a 08 up ABS compatible bike without ABS to know if this would be the same, but worth a try.
I would ass u me that the wheel sensor is still active then even without the ABS option.

No wheel Sensor

I looked the front wheel over good and did not see any sensor or wire for it. So I went to dealership just to look at a bike with the sensor, in case I was just missing it. The ones at the dealer have a black ring on the inside of the fork next to the wheel hub. So I came home and did a good inspection, found nothing like the black ring on my bike. So I am sure it does not have it. I bought this bike used with 149 miles on it. Can't get ahold of the original owner, he moved up to the N E somewhere, not sure where. I thought that somewhere I could plug in the VIN and find out bike build data. I will try he reset even though there is not a code displayed.
Thanks

Question

It's real easy to tell if you have ABS. Pull the right side cover and the ABS module is right there. It's a machined block of aluminum with several brake lines running to and from it. Also the brake system reverts back to a foundation brake system ( that is a brake system on a vehicle without ABS) anytime there is a failure in the ABS. (Federal law under NHTSA code). The ABS warning lamp illuminates when the bike is first started and stays on until the ABS module recieves the wheel speed sensor inputs from both wheels. If the warning lamp remains on there is a failure in the system. If it is a "hard" (constant) and (present) failure the light will not be able to be shut of until the failure is repaired.
