Pulling my Stator

Well I need to pull my stator and was wondering if any one had done this and of there are any tips, tricks or advice on this subject. I have the manual but it can be vague in some of it's steps?
Thanks in advance for any help or genuine suggestions.

Not really any tips...Just use new screws for the stator every time. Also, a little loctite on the wire retaining screw wont hurt. Inspect the magnets on the rotor really good and make sure they are tight on there.

Simple job if you ever pulled the primary drive, which you have...

I was wondering if I will be able to repair my stator or is it one shot deal? the plug from the block melted along with the regulator pins are welded in there. Was hoping to pull it splice it and zip it back together..... I know, never that easy! It is the rubber grommet I was wondering about can I buy that or is it one piece 200 dollar beating? I tried to give some REP for the reply but no it said I cannot yet.
So thanks again Chop

Sorry, musta missed your reply.

Repairing the end of the stator might be possible if you had a spare end to use as they dont sell them separatetly... Might not though as its really tight inside the primary where it goes. You might just be better off going to the dealer and buying a new one. Maybe 130-150 bucks for everything. However, look carefully when you pull it apart as it might be damaged and repair be out of the question. The grommet is actually part of the stator and can not be changed separately. As you can tell, i have changed many stators, but never repaired one.

Back on track here.....

I just changed mine out a couple of months ago. The one thing I had a question about was the plug wire orientation. It doesn't matter which way the two wires go back into the plug. There's no + and - persay.

Takes a couple of hours.

Right you are on the new one... it is tight in there allright. I did post another thread on a few tips when doing it though. No on the + and - of the ends it goes in one way and cannot really twist it to get it wrong. The Regulator also has a natural flow to plug it in---again with the twisting or + and -. Got all of it from JP cicles for 130 total with chrome reg all USA made including new torx screws. I must say though I do not know if it was the new fuel lines I replaced or the new Spark in her but she gets up and blows the passenger off the seat---lucky I got bars to hang on too---they did pull back some though
