You probably have the TSM, not the TSSM. Only difference is the TSSM includes the security stuff. TSM doesn't require the key fob. Should be able to verify this with the part number at the dealer.

Does the alarm set when you turn off the ignition ?
Is it possible the other FOB is somewhere on the bike ?
Any DTCs ?

The alarm does not set when the bike is off

I started looking for a fob last night have not found one yet but that was my first thought.

If DTC are codes it does not display any the security key light only comes on for about 4 seconds after the ignition is turned on.

are there any places you would look for a fob on the bike i have looked under the tank cover and side covers.

Not sue how it compares to my 07 RK (FLHRS), I have TSSM with siren II. When I turn off my ignition I get two chrips and two flashes from my turn signals. My alarm indicator (red key) starts flashing at 2.5sec mode (armed). If my FOB is not in proximity the alarm will trigger if you screw with the bike.

I'm leaning toward agreeing with n7ki, you may have TSM.

Good luck…

i just got my parts catalog out and it shows on page 184-185 item 7 part number 68920-01D is a module turn signal canceller and 68922-00D is a module security system.
Thats how i came up with it being a tssm.

I have an '05 and the TSSM only sets if you activate it by a long press on the FOB button. To de-activate it's a "double-click" on the same button. It does not require a key to start my bike unless I lock the main switch on the gas tank. Generally I just set the TSSM and lock the steering head.

The auto arming feature for factory H-D security system was not available for US bikes until 2007 model year. You will need a fob to arm/disarm your security system, assuming it has one.

So what you think is, the alarm is not activated and this will allow the bike to work fine without a fob?

My '06 FXSTBI has an auto-arming feature (off by default). At least the owners manual states that it does. I have never tried it.

You should be able to take the bike to a dealer and get new key fobs made. Call your local dealer to make sure. I know auto-dealers can do it without issues.

2007 H-D sales literature states 2007 model yr as first for auto arming security system for US bikes. Another source of this info can be found here.

Thats interesting. I'd like to see that literature because my Owners Manual on my '06 FXSTBI has an entire section dedicated to "Using Auto-Arming" the alarm system (page 78) and another on how to enable/disable it (page 91). And auto-arming works perfectly on my bike.

btw, the link you provided does not state that the '07 is the first model year to have auto-arming. It states that it is the first model year to have auto-arming with a "button-less" key fob. So the key fob only needs to be within the vicinity of the bike when turning the ignition on. '06 bikes have a button on the key fob. We have to disable the alarm via the button on the fob like "normal". But we don't have to use the fob to enable the alarm.
