Horizontal Plate holder install Question

I recently purchased a custom chrome horizontal plate holder for my 2000 softail. No instructions of course. (Since I got pulled over for my Vertical Plate) its supposed to fit on the axle with no Mods. So i took off chrome covers, and looked at the axle...and I cant see how this fits. I can see where it goes if i take off the inside spacer. It will fit but when I put the plate holder over the axle it covers all of the threads on the axle so there is no way to screw on the axle nut. Also doesnt the nut have to screw inside of the plate holder? the nut wont do that its too big. And if it goes inside of the plate holder what goes on the outside to keep the plate holder on the bike? use the clip that goes over the end of the nut? I have seen tons of these on softails. How does this thing fit on? does anyone have pics of one installed ontheir axle? any help is appreciated.

Softails mount to swing arm tube with supplied clamp, did you get the right kit?

Sorry I missed the Custom Chrome, it was a Kuryakyn I installed.
