Anybody with any personal experience with the Ultima/Midwest Starters
Need to replace the starter in my 96" chopper. The current one just jackhammers like crazy half the time.
Anyhow, would like to save a few bucks if possible and I know of the great starters out there, All Balls and Tech, but does anyone have any experience with the Ultima/Midwest starter. Im thinking I would only need the 1.4,
Thanks for the review of them. Im a dealer for them so I can get one cheap, but I dont want to waste $200 bucks just to buy a $400 one the folowing month.
Thanks

the bigger your motor the harder to start... till you get ur new starter squeeze your clutch while in neutral as you start ur bike- it makes things easier for ur starter motor . its a good habit !

I've tapped my starter button real fast, to let the compression off. Seemed to kinda help.
Do you have to grind the exhaust bracket with this starter? Curious.

1.4
I have an Ultima 1.4 kw on my Road King (10:1 compression). Been very pleased with it.
Not to sound critical but you state that you are a dealer for their products but you seem to be leary of using them on your own bike.

I bought a drag locally, which i think is really a allballz, bioth made in Canada. The bracket would not fit. I brough it back and said whats wrong with this thing. They said you got to grind it. Why didn't anybody tell me this? I would have to grind alot off. Then the parts guy said, thats custom for ya. I was jacked up. Returned it. Still looking for one.
