From six wire to three wire ignition switch?

Aftermarket catalogs sell a three pole ignition switch listed for 93-08 FXDWG, 96-08 Softail, 94-06 FLHR, replaces 71501-93 and 71313-96A

Who knows the harley part # for the plastic plug housing for this style switch so I can make my own pigtail. Have seen pigtail kits for $19 but I know if I get the plug housing from Harley and make the harness it will be a lot less, most housings I have picked up were under $2.

Allready bought "73327-03A Housing, ignition switch, female". It is for a switch with three spade terminals but not the correct one for this switch.

Also if you have the wiring diagram wouldn't mind some imput. This style switch has two hot leads but the bike has three circuits.

Since new bikes have lights on when running I am thinking they combined the light and ignition circuit on one lead and the accessory circuit is the other. Is this correct?

combined relay and ignition. You do not want to run the full power through the switch, this is why they make relays.

Know about relays...

Yep, know that the starter relay is part of the ignition circuit.

95 Softail has 3 circuits off the ignition switch, ignition with starter relay, lighting and accessory. Each with thier own terminal.

So with the newer switch with only two outputs, two circuits need to feed off one connection. Got to ck a stock wiring diagram from a newer bike today.

Looks like when they went to the electrical speedometers they went to 4 circuits.

One lead off the switch handles ignition, lighting and gauges and the other is dedicated to accessories. Kinda like I thought only with one more circuit.

Now if I could get a look at a 96 Softail parts book to get the part # for the housing for the spade terminals...

Not that it can't be wired without it, just would clean it up and avoid any confusion putting the wires back on anytime it was unplugged.
