Help with cross ref for Ultra Light Bulbs

Looking for some help in cross referencing the lamps on the 09 Ultra. I would like to carry some spares but would prefer to be able to buy them at an auto parts store rather the “genuine” Harley bulbs.

Lamp-----------Harley #--------Generic #

Headlamp ----68329-03-------Osram 9003

Tail/stop--------68167-04

Front Turn-------68168-89A------1157 long life

Rear Turn-------68572-64B--------1156 ?

Tour-Pak tail/stop---68165-64

Fender tip front-----68193-95

Fender tip rear-----59672-09

Auxiliary lamps-----68453-05

I think that in 150K bike miles, I've had to replace headlights about a half dozen times on the road, maybe 1 tail light, maybe 1 turn signal light. I recently replaced my tour pack side lights and the fender tip lights with LEDs from superbrightleds.com. Amber wedge for the front, red for the rest, at about $5 ea.

Anyway, no light bulb is going to leave you stranded. Worse case is you ride to the next town on spotlights at night (done that too), pull the bulb at that auto parts store and get them to match it.

Although I could see carrying a spare headlight bulb, packing space is limited, so carry spares of stuff that will leave you stranded instead.

Dr. Hess: I agree about not carrying a lot of spares. I would probably use them more for others I ride with then my own bike. On a recent CMA ride someone had a turn signal out and one of the other riders had a spare. The Ultra has so many lights that except for loosing a turn signal there are still plenty of illumination so others can see you. I guess if I carry a 1156 and 1157 for the turn signals that is all I would need.

New bulbs at the begining of the season?!?

(you sure as hell don't want to buy the
$12 spots from the dealer for $45 though...)
