Is there a fuel sender in the tank? What bike is the tank off of? Most guages are wired up: Switched 12V to guage, guage to sender, sender grounds. You could experiment with that setup. I'd take the sender out of the tank (assuming you have one) and wire it up to a battery as I described and fiddle with it until it worked.

one wire for light, one (hot) to gauge, one for gauge to sender, and sender to ground. find wire for ligt first, then if gauge sweeps wrong way, just reverse other wires.

go to library and get repair manual for a 1960ish chevy-----same thing.

Thanks for the replies. So what you guys are saying is that this is 12 volt and I won't burn out the guage. Yes there is a sender in the tank. The tank was on the bike when I bought it so I don't know what it was off of. It is custom painted with ghost flames. There is a orange wire and a black wire coming out from under the tank. The tank looks like it is a Drag Specialties H18-866. Should this be wired to the ignition switch so that all it needs is 12 volt power supply and the sender does the rest depending on the amount of fuel? Would like to get this working.
Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I really need to update my web site and add a bike section, and a MegaSquirt section in particular, as well as some recent pics of the Locost and the (new to me) Europa.

On your fuel guage, if I recall, ground the black wire, orange wire to the guage, +12V to the guage. Guage may have some kind of ground wire too. That should do it, but experiment with it. What kind of guage is it? Obviously that bike didn't come with one. If it is aftermarket, look for what kind it is, find their web site and get the instructions for it.

Hey doc. Checked the fuel sender and found no manufacture name. All it says is made in ***an part #'s 75049-01 and 75062-01. Will try to research this on internet.

to experiment, ground the black and make a jumper for the power side. inline 5 anp fuse in the jumper.

jump straight to power and if it works, just wire into switched power source .
