Unhappy 2004 sportster security system question

Today my wife accidently set the security system on her sporty and being that its never used it took about 45 min to disarm the system, and that was by luck. Once she got home she armed the security system I know this is a stupid question, unlike my Ultra which sets itself each time I walk away, her bike needs to be set by pressing the fob. Only problem is that we have not figured out the arm/disarm sequence. She did order a owners manual today, but until that comes in does anyone know the sequence and is there an manual override incase the fob does not work? any help would be greatly appreciated because right now we have a bike in the garage that we cant start!

Is your wife the original owner of this bike? I had an 04 Sporty that I installed both alarms to - the TSSM module and Smart Siren. According to the manual, It was advised that I program a five digit code into the system via the left and right turn signal buttons in the event that I lost my fob thing. Then I could simply enter those numbers using the signal buttons to deactivate the system. If a code has been programmed by a previous owner than I would try contacting them or talk with a dealer. There has to be a way to clear the original code.

In fact, when I traded in my sporty I gave the dealer my manual with the code written in it so the next owner wouldn't get screwed if they lost the fob key. If your wife is the original owner than it's likely that a five digit code has NOT been programmed and you just need to use the fob. I don't have the manual anymore so I can't be much more help. Hopefully when she gets hers it will help you guys. Good luck and ride safe.

I have an 05 Sportster. The owner's manual is a must. It gives you all the instructions for using the security system. The Sportster security system is activated by pressing and holding until the turn signals blink twice. Press the button twice and it deactivates and blinks twice. You can also set the system to activate automatically, like your bike. I would assume both have the same features. If you set your personal security code in the system you will be able to unlock the system without the fob, just as the other poster described.

geoffreyt, good call - I completely forgot about holding in the turn signal buttons and waiting for the signals to blink twice. Glad someone else chimed in.
