More Kuryakyn Panacea Issues

I have a 1994 Heritage Softail. I added Kuryakyn front LEDs about a month ago and wired in the load equalizer. No problems there, worked perfectly.

The other day I added the Kuryakyn Panacea LED Tail Light and Turn Signals. Had to wire in the 12-pin wiring harness adapter for pre-96 Softails. Plugged in the Kuryakyn 'Hot Bus' module and it worked perfectly for about a day, then I noticed the rear turn signals would not work in any mode (run, turn, or stop). So, I put the stock bulbs back in, and I had no right signals at all. Left side worked.

Oddly, the turn signal in the Panacea Tail Light would still operate normally, even with stock bulbs in the turn signal housings. And the front right LED signals would work also.

Never did get the right rear signal to work.

Called Kuryakyn and they said it sounded like something on the bike was bad, not their 'Hot Bus', which made sense because the right signal wouldn't work even with the Panacea stuff removed from the bike.

Any chance the stock Harley Turn Signal Module went bad? The left side signals still work. Anybody else had trouble with the Panacea stuff on pre-96 Softails?

Skull scratching here.....

bad flasher unit

I doubt that the Harley flasher unit is bad as it runs bothleft and right signals. If one was bad they both would be if the flasher unit was duff.

Not much help i am afraid in sorting your problem, sorry

Hey Cold Beer, I had a problem when I was trying to put in LED's on the rear blinkers. The right one worked with the stock bulb but not the LED. I finally figured out that when the dealer added the kit for the blinkers to make the detachable sissy bar work they wired the light backwards. Switched the wiring around and worked great. Dealer told me I needed a load equalizer. Wrong!!! Just a shot in the dark you could try.

ny help?

Well the problem continues. Had my bike in for a few upgrades and had my mechanic look at the connections for the Panacea stuff. He said all connections looked good, not sure if he tested anything. He thought the master control for the Panacea system had failed. So, I ordered a replacement master control from Kuryakyn ($80). After switching them out, same deal, they worked for about a day, then I lost the run and stop modes on the turn signal LEDs. Turn signal function still works. And the Panacea tail light still has all it's functions.

The only thing I can figure is that the ground for the rear signal housings isn't strong enough and the master control eventually blows a circuit. The master control is sealed, so you can't work on it or replace fuses (yes, a bad design), so it is wasted.

Any help?

I agree with using HEavy cycles, Lifetime warranty after replacing my Kuryakyn due to the LED's burning out? spent the money and got the better product. Heavy cycles is much brighter and you can tell by looking at it much better made.
