Stage1 that bad?

I know the 07's run lean, probably even with the "0903 Smoothing" setup in them, but is a basic dealer Stage1 really that bad / waste of money?

Modern engines (cars) seem to get good numbers without being too rich, so although maybe not ideal would a dealer Stage1 be good enough for the money to have an 07 run well without excessive heat? Meaning just real world dependable without seeking a certain Dyno number.

The HD website shows the Stage1 for the 96" Dyno with about 85 lbs. tq. @ rear wheel from 2,500 to 4,000 rpm's. That seems decent, if it's correct, if it also keeps you away from excessive heat.

Think about how cars ran in 1975, the first year for catalytic converters.
We're there now.

Dealer downloads are $150. For about $140 more you can order a PC111usb
from Fuelmoto with a map that will be way better than the download.
My stage 1 07 dynos right at 85 tq. with no more heat issues.
