sert ????

I just put a sert on my bike today and i'm having problems loading maps that i saved from here and gmr. Once i try to download the map to the ecu it says i have the wrong calibration # and ecu pin? any ideas?
It hooked up fine, mated fine ,reads the ecu, the only thing i can,t do is load the maps from my pc . I can open the maps on the tuning page but thats it.

When you read your ECM data, what is your ECM part #? Check to make sure this is the same as the ECM # in the map data. Also, no matter what the file name is, for your 05 check to make sure the Cal ID of the map starts with 127. If not, the map is for a different year bike and you would have to manually convert the map you want to load to a map table with a proper part #, in order to use the data.

Ecm is 321498-05 cal id is `127hn005134. From what i'm starting to understand is each map has to start with 127, correct? With my build what would be a good canned map to start with? If i see a map on gmr's site that looks close but has the wrong id how do i change it?

Pick any 127........ map that you like as a base map. If you are finnicky, you might want to pick one that has the factory description which most closely resembles your build, but it really doesn't matter. Open the map that works with your build in one window. Open the map that you want to use the data from in another window. Then, table by table, block copy the data that you want to use, from the data map to the map that works with your bike. Once you have everything copied over, save your newly created map to a new file name. The file name can be anything, it's the cal id that your ECM will look at.

You may also want to edit the last three digits of the cal id for your new map to be something different than the 000 of the original map. If this is your first new map then you could use 100 in the last three and make any later edits 101, 102, 103,....

My personal opinion though is that you would be better off starting with a map created for your year bike, even if it is a stock HD map, and take it to a tuner to get it set up for your build. Good luck!

One other thought, if you do convert a map, check the RPM values in your tables. Not all the maps use the same rpm values in the fuel tables. Since the maps won't be built for your bike anyways it shouldn't be too critical, you just need to be aware of any differences as you transfer data.
