EFI Download Before or After???

Just installed the SE Stage 1 onto my 2002 RK Classic EFI. I noticed that the installation instructions have a warning about doing the download first before installing the Stage 1, to prevent damage to the engine. My dealer is 5 miles away from my house. Does anyone know if I could be damaging the engine if I rode the bike to the dealer for them to install the download?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ray

5 miles will not hurt, the bike will barely be warmed up by then.

Stage 1

I had my Stage 1 downloaded by the dealer and then rode my bike for almost 300 miles before making some changes. The dealer said that no damage will result from this. The only thing that this does is let the engine run a little rich. And this makes sense, since the factory sets the engine up to run very lean to meet EPA standards. Of course the factory and some do not want you to believe things like this so that you will have them do the work........... remember the factory and their stand on synthetic oils...........
